El Molino is located in Tucuman, 17 km west of Concepción, on National Route 65. This town has only one medical emergency room, which is not fully equipped. When people need special treatments, they have to travel all the way to San Miguel de Tucuman (capital of the province). This generates a cost of approximately $ 60(ARG pesos) round trip per person only in busses.
There is only one school in this town and it only has elementary grades, so most of the kids attend school in the nearby towns.
This assembly has a group of 6 permanent workers who decided to form a closed assembly. This means that neither the workers hired for the packaging, harvesting, nor the town people can participate in the meetings deciding how to use the Fairtrade premiums. Still, they are favored by these investments cause most of them are meant for community improvements rather than personal interests of the assembly.
